Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic massage is a general term that describes any type of massaging that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem. Often mistaken as deep tissue massage, therapeutic massages incorporate different amounts of pressure and techniques depending on the problem to help alleviate the pain or stress.

Relaxation Massage

Relaxation massage uses long, smooth, and light strokes to help your whole body relax. There is less of a focus on reducing pain, but some muscles may be targeted during the session. The main goal is to reduce stress, improve blood circulation, and promote a general sense of well-being. You may even fall asleep during this massage and that is completely normal! If you’re feeling overwhelmed and need a calm space, this is a great way to forget about the stressors in your life and re-establish emotional, mental, and physical balance.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of therapeutic massage that targets and realigns the deeper muscle layers. It uses slow, deep strokes with the right amount of pressure to target not only the deep layers but all layers of muscle. While the name implies a lot of pressure, we take into consideration your pain tolerance to find the optimal pressure for you. With the right amount of pressure and technique, the scar tissues will be broken down, releasing tension and pain.

This type of massage is great for chronic pain and muscle injuries. It will also release stress, increase joint mobility, and may even be beneficial for your blood pressure!

Maternity Massage

During the miracle of pregnancy, there are a lot of physical and emotional changes that may become challenging and stressful. Prenatal massage helps address some of the common discomforts during pregnancy while keeping you and your baby safe and comfortable. It reduces anxiety, decreases stress, improves muscle and joint pain, regulates mood, improves blood flow, and improves sleep quality.

While there is a wealth of benefits, some precautions do exist. Please consult your health care provider, or doctor to see if prenatal or any type of massage is right for you in your pregnancy journey!

Cupping

Massage with cupping includes the ancient technique of cupping therapy. The therapists create suction in a cup using heat or a vacuum to draw up your skin. The cups stay on for 5-15 minutes. This suction helps to reduce inflammation, increase circulation, reduce stress and relax deep muscles, and reduce pain. The cups may be moved along the body depending on the treatment. Along with a massage, cupping provides a profoundly relaxing session that will completely relax your body.
